Kea Community Centre wants as many people as possible to be able to use this website. The rebuilt site is being designed and tested with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard as its target, which also meets the WCAG 2.1 AA requirement in the website tender.
Using this website
We have designed the website so that you should be able to:
- zoom and resize text without losing content or functionality;
- navigate the main website using a keyboard;
- use headings, links and form labels that are meaningful and consistent;
- use the site on desktop, tablet and mobile screens;
- use common screen readers and other assistive technologies with the core website content;
- see a visible focus state when moving through interactive elements with a keyboard.
Areas we continue to monitor
The website includes some content or services that are supplied by third parties. In particular, room availability and bookings are provided through Hallmaster. We cannot directly control every aspect of the accessibility of Hallmaster’s own interface, but we will keep the integration under review and provide an alternative way to contact the Centre if somebody cannot complete a booking online.
Some older documents transferred from the previous website may not meet the same accessibility standard as newly published HTML content. If you need an older document in a different format, please contact us.

Reporting an accessibility problem
If you find an accessibility problem that is not described on this page, please tell us. Include the page you were using and a brief description of the problem so that we can investigate it.
Testing and review
The website is being rebuilt during 2026. A final accessibility check of representative pages and key journeys will be carried out before launch. We will update this statement with the date and outcome of that testing, and we will review the statement when the website changes materially or at least annually.
